Ozone Therapy
Ozone therapy is an innovative anti-cancer agent when administered vaginally, rectally and intravenously. Most often at IMI, ozone is administered intravenously where the patient’s blood is drawn and placed in an infusion bottle. Ozone (O3) is then forced into the bottle and mixed with the patient’s blood. This oxygen rich blood is then infused back into the patient. When the malignant cancer cells come into contact oxygen they die.
Ozone therapy is the result of the theory of Nobel Prize Winner Otto Warburg who found that malignant cells could not survive when they come in contact with oxygen. Ozone therapy has been effective in halting and sometimes reversing tumor growth, improving the oxygen exchange of the blood, activating the immune system and increasing the efficiency of the antioxidant system.
Approximately 20% of the air we breathe is made up of two atoms of oxygen, (O2). Ozone is made up of three atoms of oxygen and is a less stable form of molecular oxygen. During oxidation in the body, the extra oxygen molecule is released leaving O2. This then increases the oxygen content of the blood or tissues while also oxidizing other chemicals. Ozone treatment is thus both oxygenation and oxidation type therapy.
German physician Albert Wolff first utilized ozone to treat skin diseases in 1915 and the German Army used ozone extensively during World War I to treat a wide variety of battle wounds and infections. Ozone therapy is widely used in Germany, Europe and Mexico.
