Biological Terrain Analysis (BTA)

Biological Terrain Analysis (BTA)

Biological Terrain Analysis (BTA) is a laboratory test performed in our clinic that provides information about one’s overall health, including energy levels, immunity and the rate of cellular degeneration. This simple test analyzes small samples of your blood, urine and saliva which provides critical data about the current state of the building blocks of your body such as your enzymes, amino acids, molecules, cells and electrons.

In the1950s French Professor Louis-Claude Vincent theorized that the key to understanding health was based on the health and function of the body's building blocks of life - enzymes, amino acids, molecules and electrons (which are found in the body’s blood, saliva and urine).

Vincent believed that the primary cause of most illness and disease was due to imbalances in the underlying biochemistry of the body.  He believed that disturbances in the body’s “Biological Terrain” compromised cellular functioning and therefore compromised the immune system and therefore the overall health of the individual.

When a cell lives in an unhealthy environment that lacks the proper pH or nutrients, the cell becomes unhealthy whereas cells that live in a healthy environment with a balanced pH, nutrient and hydration levels, they will thrive and be better equipped to resist the effects of damaging organisms such as bacteria, viruses, yeast and fungi. He believed that if the body’s chemistry was in balance and kept that way, the individual would have a healthy immune system and maintain high quality health.  The BTA has been used in Germany, Austria and Denmark for years and is now being recognized by Canadian practitioners as a tool to assist in understanding the underlying cause of disease.

The BTA measures:

pH: The pH levels determines the acid-alkaline balance in the body. If  the body becomes to acidic due to stress, poor digestion, over exposure to damaging environmental or industrial contaminants etc, this can lead to imbalances in the body’s delicate chemistry, which may negatively impact the body

Redox: The oxidation-reduction value (rH2) calculates the state of oxygen in the individuals system.  Abnormal levels of rH2 may indicate effects of stress, poor air and food quality and the lack of aerobic exercise which over time may compromise health and lead to illness and premature aging.

Resistivity:  Measures the concentration of minerals in your body fluids.

The results of the BTA can provide information as to how well the enzymes, amino acids, minerals and electrons are doing their job, whether the kidneys are cleansing the blood and eliminating toxins, if the body is properly digesting carbohydrates, how well the liver is functioning, and if hydration is adequate.

Indications

  • Prevention:  Keeping your body’s internal environment at an optimal level can prevent many illnesses from occurring
  • Determining a treatment program
  • Monitor treatment progress

The BTA is not a substitute for conventional diagnostic procedures nor is it intended to take place of medical treatment.
