Welcome to the December 2005 Issue of Illuminations. We are about to enter the most prevalent influenza season of the year and there is much media hype over the threat of a pandemic of avian flu. As you may recall, last year it was a different malady, SARS and prior to that meningitis. Not that there is not cause to be aware and use due diligence in protecting yourself. In fact, there are several actiosn that may be taken to greatly reduce your chances of contracting the flu or that will at least accelerate your healing from this.
Homeopathic remedies (see website for more information) have been shown clincally to reduce the duration of symptoms and to possibly even ward off the onset of influenza. Homeopathics are taken periodically during the flu season and more often if contracted.
IF you do contract the flu, at the first onset of symptoms, take mucococcinum or oscillococcinum as directed immediatley, as well as Vitamin C, fluids and rest immediately, preferably in a warm situation. IF you have access to an infra-red sauna (such as that at IMI) this is a good time to try it out for 20 minutes or your tolerance (High heat simulates the fever which your body is about to induce to 'burn off' the viral infection). In addition, an intravenous application of minerals, vitamins (especially vitamin C) and specific nutrients can greatly assist your immune system in fighting off the virus.
